Stump Grinding in Belleair Shore, FL
We grind stumps and clear trees for Belleair Shore homeowners, working out of our base in Clearwater.

Belleair Shore is a very small town on the Gulf of Mexico, and its lots are tight. We serve it from Clearwater, FL, and we grind stumps, remove trees and clear lots there. Call or send a request and we will tell you what the job needs.
Stump grinding on a small Gulf-front lot
Belleair Shore sits entirely on the west side of Gulf Boulevard, with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and Belleair Beach and Indian Rocks Beach close by. It is one of Florida's smallest incorporated towns, and much of its area is water rather than land. That shapes the work. Lots are compact, yards are close to the street and the neighbours, and there is rarely room to swing a big machine around.
A stump grinder suits that kind of site. It is narrow, it works from one spot, and it takes the stump down below ground level without a backhoe or a dug-out hole. When a tree has already come down and the stump is left behind, grinding is usually the cleanest way to get the space back for turf, a patio, a garden bed or a new tree.
Salt air, sandy ground and wet weather
The area has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. For stumps, that means two things. Warm, damp conditions keep old stumps and roots decaying from the inside, so a stump that looks solid can be soft, hollow or full of insects. And fast growth means roots, suckers and sprouts come back quickly if the stump is left in place.
Sandy soil and root runs
Coastal soil tends to be sandy and loose. Roots often run shallow and wide rather than deep, so a large tree can have surface roots that lift pavers, edge a driveway or push against a seawall cap. Grinding the main stump is the first step. Where surface roots are the problem, we can follow them out and grind them down too.
Palms and mixed plantings
Palms are common near the Gulf. A palm stump is fibrous rather than woody, so it grinds differently from an oak or a pine, and it leaves a lot of loose material. We plan for that before we start, so the cleanup is not a surprise.
Storms and leftover stumps
Wind from a storm can snap a trunk or tip a tree and leave a stump at an awkward height. If a tree is still standing and unsafe, it needs removal first. Once it is down, the stump can be ground the same visit or on a follow-up.
The services we offer in Belleair Shore
Our main work is stump grinding. That covers stump removal, root grinding, palm stump grinding, commercial stump grinding, and filling the hole and cleaning up the grindings afterward.
If the tree is still standing, we also handle tree removal. That includes palm tree removal, trimming, canopy raising, storm cleanup, dead tree removal and removal close to a house. Taking a tree down and grinding its stump in one booking saves you coordinating two crews.
For a bigger overgrown area, we do lot clearing. That means brush and underbrush clearing, forestry mulching, invasive tree removal and bamboo removal. Bamboo and invasive trees spread by their roots, so those jobs often involve grinding as well.
We are not on call after hours, so storm work is scheduled within our normal hours.
What a stump grinding visit looks like
Before we start
We look at the stump, the roots around it and the space the machine has to travel through. We check for things that change the plan: irrigation lines, buried cables, fences, pavers and anything close to the stump. In a town this compact, access can matter as much as the stump itself, so we check gates and side yards. Mark any sprinkler heads or lines you know about.
The grinding
The grinder has a spinning wheel with carbide teeth. We sweep it across the stump in passes, lowering it until the stump is ground below the surface. If you plan to replant in the same spot, tell us, because we may grind deeper.
Cleanup and the hole
Grinding leaves a mound of wood chips and soil. We can fill the hole with the grindings and clean up the surrounding area, or leave the chips for you to use as mulch. Tell us which you prefer when you book. Chips from a stump that was diseased are better hauled off than spread near other plants.
How to book stump grinding in Belleair Shore
We are based in Clearwater and travel to Belleair Shore for each job. We do not have an office in the town, so the first step is a call or a quote request.
Our hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are closed on Sunday. Call (727) 483-5339 or email info@stumpgrindingclearwater.com. Tell us how many stumps there are, roughly how big they are, and whether there are palms, tight gates or anything underground we should know about. Photos help.
